Hardware Description |
Camerica, known for releasing a series of high-quality games back in the day, also made a go at releasing a number of joysticks for various systems. This is technically a multi-system joystic, but on the box it mentions Sega. Considering that only two buttons are present on the controller, it makes the most sense that this was meant only for the Master System. As for the box's claims, they should be taken with about a million grains of salt. The Freedom Stick has a really shoddy feel to it, not to mention that, as most infrared joysticks from this era, it's not as capable of being moved around as you'd like to think. It has a pretty good range in general, but don't expect to jump around with it. An interesting item, nonetheless.

Variations |
No known variants. It should be noted, however, that Camerica teamed up with Acemore around the same time to release joysticks in the United States. For the NES they both released similar joysticks, so it's possible an Acemore variant of the Freedom Stick was produced.
