Disney's famous mascot Mickey Mouse stars in his first outing on the SMS. This side-scrolling platformer took Mickey on a magical quest to save his beloved Minnie from the evil witch Mizrabel. Great playability and fantastic level designs captured the imagination of SMS gamers a many. This sublime title is of the pinnacle in SMS gaming. Appeared 17 times, including 14 in voters' top 10's.

Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap
This game faced a challenge in improving upon it's predecessor but it managed it in style. In his 3rd adventure, Wonder Boy has been cursed by the Meka Dragon and now must find the Salamander Cross. It's excellent crisp graphics, smooth gameplay and longevity has earned this game's status as being an SMS classic. Received a massive 23 votes and finished well clear of 4th place.

Sonic the Hedgehog
I'm betting quite a few of you may have expected this to be our no.1, especially considering it was voted for more than any other game (25 in all). Sega's superfast blue hedgehog's original SMS adventure is just brilliant in every aspect. Here, Sonic dashes and spins through several zones to battle Dr. Robotnik for six Chaos Emeralds. This game is truly timeless and deserves nothing less than 2nd place.
